Help renovate Calderon Hall
and get a chance to win a Toyota Fortuner!
The University of the Philippines Medical Alumni Fund, Inc. (UPMAF) is embarking on a fund-raising campaign to supplement the UP College of Medicine’s budget for the renovation of Calderon Hall.
Nostalgic as it may seem, the UP College of Medicine has been there for ages. Its present structural predicament is due to its wear and tear. Dean Agnes D. Mejia has many ideas in improving the College but University funds are very limited and restricted, often inadequate to support all concerns. The Dean’s complex is the entry point to our college, the main unit for all visitors whether alumni or foreign guests. It has deteriorated so much and badly needs face lifting and renovation. Unfortunately this cannot be a priority compared to the other more urgent needs of the College.
To this end, we will be holding a car raffle. We plan to sell 7000 tickets at P 1,000.00 each.
This raffle is open to any individual or corporate personality, regardless of citizenship. On the raffle date, the winner does not need to be present to win.
HOW TO ENTER
The ticket has a control number which will then be registered as a valid entry in the list of possible winners for the raffle. This list is finalized on the night of the raffle draw, a copy of which is given to guest University Officers before the winning numbers are drawn.
PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE
There will be one (1) grand prize, three (3) major consolation prizes, and five (6) minor consolation prizes.
Grand Prize. The grand prize is a Toyota Fortuner 4x2 Gas A/T. This prize is drawn after major and minor consolation prizes have been drawn.
Major Consolation Prizes.

All tax liabilities are the sole responsibility of the winner. The grand prize winner will be required to submit his taxpayer identification number (TIN) and another valid ID to claim the prize.
A person can only win a single prize. In the event that a person’s number is drawn more than once, he/she shall be required to forfeit the lesser prize. Another ticket will be redrawn for the lesser prize.
Vacuum drawing of balls. Each digit will be drawn via a vacuum suction system. Numbers drawn will be verified by guest University personnel who are asked to judge the circumstances of the draw. All judgments made are binding and final in all matters relating to this raffle. The prizes for the six minor consolation prizes will be drawn first, then the three major consolation prizes, followed by the grand prize.
Winners will be notified by telephone, email, or mail service the day after the raffle. No names will be projected on the night of the raffle to ensure privacy and security.
The winner will be required to present a valid ID (driver’s license, passport, company ID) at the time of claiming the prize. If a prize notification is returned to the College as undeliverable or if an entrant is found to be ineligible or declines acceptance of the prize for any reason, the prize automatically becomes the property of the UPMAF.
ODDS OF WINNING
The odds of winning are 1 in 7,000 if all printed tickets are sold. Odds improve if there are fewer than 7,000 tickets sold.
